Early Childhood Practitioner - Edinburgh

One of our leading clients based in Edinburgh is recruiting Nursery Practitioners for their award winning independently run private day nursery. They provide a positive and friendly environment in which enthusiastic, committed and skilled professionals are sure to flourish and who will care for, guide and support young children during their early years education.

The Person

• To provide a high standard of physical, emotional, social, and intellectual care for all children in the nursery
• To give support to other team members throughout the nursery
• To work as part of a team in order to provide an enabling environment in which all individual children can play, learn and develop
• Working as part of a team, you will be a positive role model to ensure that the company values are maintained
• Ensure that equality of access and opportunity is afforded to all staff, parents and children

Experience and Qualifications

• SVQ Level 2/3 or  NC/HNC in Childhood Practice or a Qualification recognised for registration as a practitioner with the SSSC
• Be reliable and trustworthy
• Be able to work on your own initiative
• Previous experience is essential
• A good knowledge of birth to 5 development and the curriculum
• The best practice for key person system, safeguarding, health & safety and confidentiality    
• How to safely administer First Aid and critical care policies
